Meet our people

These profiles of our staff demonstrate the variety of work available at the Soil Association:

Director of the Food for Life Partnership - Emma Noble

As Director of the Food for Life Partnership, Emma is responsible for co-ordinating the skills and expertise of the Focus on Food Campaign, Garden Organic and the Health Education Trust, in reaching out through schools to give communities access to seasonal, local and organic food. Emma has a background in environmental science and a Doctorate in sustainable development. She helped initiate some of the first Food for Life projects in North Yorkshire and Shropshire. Then, moving to the Policy department she oversaw some key Food For Life policy initiatives and a number of reports, including the Real Meal Deal.

Learning Manager - Ben Raskin

Ben is the charities horticultural representative. After 12 years of commercial growing experience, Ben joined the Soil Association in 2006. He is also passionate about inspiring a new generation of organic farmers and growers, and is currently focused on doing this through the Soil Association Organic Apprenticeship Scheme.

Head of Farmer & Grower Relations - Phil Stocker

Phil is responsible for the relationships and communications between the Soil Association and its farmer and grower members, and the services provided through producer membership. He came to the Soil Association after over 25 years of practical farming and farm management and his role now concentrates on creating a viable and secure future for producers involved in sustainable organic farming.
