Reaching our members

Our members play a key part in supporting our charity work and are committed and environmentally conscious. They believe in the public work we do and are united in adding their voice to the growing number of people who are speaking out for an organic and sustainable future.

You can reach our members using any of the following opportunities:

Members' e-newsletter

Sent to members and email registrants in the middle of each month, the e-newsletter provides members with updates on how their support is helping to make a difference and non-members with reasons why they should join and support our growing movement. Current circulation is just over 56,000 email addresses.

Opportunity

If you are interested in providing a special members' only offer such as free samples, giveaways or tickets to events, please contact Lisa Metcalfe on lmetcalfe@soilassociation.org for more details. All products must be Soil Association certified (except where this is not possible, for example with books or tickets to events. In this case they must compliment the Soil Associations work and values). Unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship or advertisements such as web banners on the members' e-newsletter at present.

Deadlines

Copy deadline for a member's only offer is the 5th of that month.

Members' supporter magazine - Living Earth

Living Earth is a quarterly magazine packed full of thought-provoking articles, updates on campaigns and policy work, reader offers and regular columns on organic cooking and gardening. Current circulation is 25,000 members and increasing at a steady rate.

Opportunities

Living Earth presents many opportunities including page advertising, directories, reciprocal mailings and reader offers. For advertising availability, rates and artwork specifications please contact Julia Twaddell on juliet@thinkpublishing.co.uk. For editorial requests please contact Tim Young on tyoung@soilassociation.org. Occasionally we will conduct insert 'swaps' with like-minded organisations, for further details regarding reciprocal mailings please contact Stephen Last on 0117 9874578.

Deadlines

Please refer to the media pack for details on deadlines.

Website

We hope our website makes life easier for old and new visitors to find what they're looking for and be inspired by our work. In recent times we've been welcoming over 80,000 visitors per month.

Opportunities

There are many opportunities for ways to reach both our members and visitors on our Soil Association website:

  • Competitions: Every month companies are able to present their products and services to an organically minded audience through our competitions. There are a number of competition slots available every month. Images are required to accompany your copy and templates are provided to make life easy for you.
  • Joining offers: Every month a company agrees to help attract new members by offering gifts to those who join. This can be for every new member, or capped at a certain number, e.g. the first 150 new members that month.

All products presented in the competitions and joining offers must be Soil Association certified to feature.

Deadlines

For the competitions and joining offers, copy and images must be received by the middle of the month before the offer will go live.

For further details on all of the above please email Lisa Metcalfe on lmetcalfe@soilassociation.org.

Events

Many of our members will attend exhibitions and shows throughout the year. Find out what shows the Soil Association will be exhibiting at and further details of ways you may be able to get involved by visiting our events pages.

If you would like to offer products either for on-stand competitions or as a membership offer, please contact Lisa Metcalfe on lmetcalfe@soilassociation.org.
