Farmer and grower board

The Soil Association Farmer and Grower Board is a representative group of organic producers from a range of backgrounds. The Board aims to ensure a balance of representation across all sectors through its members. Being typical producers, the Soil Association will regularly consult with the Board on a range of topics. The purpose of the board is to:

  • Represent producer members, including licensees of Soil Association Certification Ltd
  • Bring producer related issues to the notice of all relevant departments of the Soil Association
  • Put forward matters for debate at the Soil Association Council.

2009 farmer and grower board election results

"On behalf of your Farmer and Grower Board, I am delighted to welcome two new co-opted members on the Board. Hayden Edwards and Nick Walton were chosen by the Board from a number of very able and enthusiastic nominees. Their background and experiences will bring a new perspective to the Board and give improved representation from Wales, as well as new coverage from the East of England. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Komatsu, who is now standing down, for his sterling contribution to the Board over several years. Finally a big thank you to all the members who put themselves forward for election - please don't give up as there is always next year!"
Phil Stocker, director of farmer and grower relations
