Secondary resources
For secondary schools, we encourage students to browse our online farm trails, watch our One Planet Food film and study our crops and livestock factsheets.
These resources provide information for teachers and students on the key elements of both organic and intensive farming. We hope to provide as balanced a view as possible, but acknowledge that our principal aim as an organisation is to promote the benefits of organic farming.
Farm trails online
You and your students can discover more about organic farming by ‘walking’ one of our web-based farm trails. Online activities include:
- Meeting organic farm animals
- Finding out more about wildlife on the farms
- Getting a sneak preview of a farm before you visit
- Accessing downloadable teaching resources
- Learning about organic farming principles
One Planet Food film
The Soil Association led Food for Life Partnership has an award-winning short film called One Planet Food. In the film, three young secret agents embark on a mission to discover the true impact of food and farming on the environment and investigate where food actually comes from.
