A dream come true...

Lynda Brown - 05 March 2013

Most people dream of holidays in exotic places staying in a luxurious hotel overlooking a sun drenched ocean; I dream of visiting Ode Café in Shaldon, Devon situated in Ness car park overlooking Teignmouth (which looks a lot more exotic by night than day).

Last week my dream came true - burgers on the menu, yes, but not some dubious squashed greasy affairs with a seasoning of horse DNA, but a choice of either prime Riverford organic beef burger or extremely tasty home made local wild venison burger, both well under a tenner (£8 in fact) – and they come with French fries and delicious organic salad leaves, too.

Menu at the Ode Cafe

I’m not about to write a restaurant review, but please put this modest but revolutionary - already winning-awards - café on your destination list. For this, along with the now iconic Riverford Field Kitchen and Hugh F-W’s canteen cum restaurants, is the face of catering for the future: sustainable ethos, right on ethics, mainly organic, peerless traceability, fun atmosphere, friendly service and all run by people who care.

Great grub - in Café Ode’s case, think no fuss familiar dishes with a touch of Asian on the side and unbeatable value for money (you will spend more eating average food in a local pub than you will here). It’s geared for families, big on takeaways, and apart from those pesky French fries (they tried to source organic and couldn’t,  but are on the case for this summer), Riverford's burgers and bread from the local baker, it's all home made. Oh yes, the wine really is £3 a glass. What’s not to rush down for?

Now, do not get worried with the brand name of Fake Lovis Voitton handbags. When we talk about Fake designer handbags, we have something which is way cheaper yet looks perfect and would be a great gift for your special someone. Now, the question, which may creep in your mind, is how we can get cheap things that can still make a difference. The answer is pretty simple. At top online stores, like Replica TAG Heuer watches Pro, we get excellent companies selling their Breitling montres products at cheap rates. They do not compromise on quality and do not let their clients even have the feeling of donning a Replica Designer Handbags, yet the price is considerably lowered. Another advantage is that the variety on offer is quite huge. So, fancy getting the piece, the original of which attracted your girl friend when she was passing the real store.
