Reducing diffuse pollution on farms
Wed 17 Jun, 1-2.15pm, online
Join us and Bristol Avon Rivers Trust to discuss practical ways to reduce diffuse pollution from farms and relevant funding that is available. We'll discuss on farm interventions, nutrient management, and the role of farm clusters in landscape scale approaches.
Cutting carbon where it counts: tackling Scope 3 in crop nutrition
Tues 14 Jul, 12.30-1.15pm, online
This webinar is designed to help farmers move beyond abstract carbon language and turn Scope 3 emissions into practical, on-farm decisions. Rather than focusing on reporting alone, the session will translate carbon concepts into actions that improve everyday farm performance.
Bringing British Apples to Market - Varieties, Value & Viability
Wed 22 Jul, 10.30am-3pm, Boxford Farms CO6 4PZ
Join us on the farm for a day exploring one of the biggest questions facing orchards today: how do we grow and sell fruit in ways that are economically secure, environmentally responsible, and ready for the future? The event will bring together growers and experts for an open discussion, a guided walk through the orchard, and a relaxed lunch. Along the way, we’ll look at the realities of modern apple production, including how heritage, standard, and disease-resistant varieties each fit into the picture.
On-farm bio stimulants and closed-loop soil health
Thur 6 Aug, 10.30am-3pm, Polybell Farm DN10 4SN
How can large commercial farms transition away from purchased biological inputs and move toward truly agroecological, farm-made soil amendments? Join us this summer at Pollybell Farm for an in-depth exploration of bio-stimulants within a closed-loop farming system, demonstrated at commercial scale.

Going organic: Practical steps for dairy farmers: Find out more about the organic conversion process and the practical realities of organic dairy farming. With our advisor Jerry Alford, organic consultant Rob Daykin, Doug Stevens (an inspector from Soil Association Certification), and experienced organic dairy farmer Peter Cheek from Godminster Farm in Somerset.
Farming the Fens: Building resilient peatland systems: In this webinar, we looked at paludaculture, and the pressures faced by those working lowland peat soils - highly productive farmland responsible for a significant proportion of agricultural greenhouse gas emissions. Chaired by our soil scientist Josiah Judson as part of NBSoil, a Soil Mission Horizon project, with Christian Kielinger from Fenland SOIL, Callum Bennett from G’s Norfolk and Lucy Harler from G’s Fresh.
SFI26 Explained: A practical guide for organic and non-organic farmers: Our farming advisors take a comprehensive look at SFI26, examining options, offering practical guidance on planning and preparing applications and looking at how schemes can integrate into different farming systems. For organic and non-organic farmers.
IPM in action: From research to practice in horticultural crops: In a joint session with the Organic Growers Alliance (OGA), we explored some of the latest research in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). With Steven Jacobs (co-ordinator, OGA), Andy Dibben (Abbey Home Farm, Gloucestershire), Dave Barfoot (Tyninghame Community Farm, East Lothian) and Professor Rosemary Collier from University of Warwick.
Where trees meet bees: Agroforestry for pollinators: Ben Raskin leads a panel of pollination experts who uncover practical strategies to boost biodiversity, and reveal how agroforestry can unlock benefits for your business and the environment. With Sarah Holdsworth from Bee Happy Plants, The Wildlife Trust’s Vicki Hird and organic farmer Mark Lea.
Bokashi in Animal Production Systems: Watch the recent Innovative Farmers webinar on how Bokashi is working in real‑world farming systems, what the trial revealed, and what it could mean for the future of sustainable livestock production, with Andrew Barbour, organic hill farmer and Andrew Taylor, regenerative dairy farmer.
Smarter farming with free tool: Could growing two crops in the same field improve yield, protein content and soil health? This webinar from our Horizon Europe LEGUMINOSE project partner BOKU introduces a free, web-based tool to help you test mixed cropping strategies before planting. Watch the webinar and test the LEGUMINOSE Decision Support Tool.
Food Hubs, Farm Partnerships and Co-ops: collaborative routes to market: This webinar, from the Scottish Agroecological Partnership, offers practical advice and real world-insights from farmers and growers using food hubs, farm partnerships and co-ops to get produce to market (from SA Scotland).
Herbal leys, livestock nutrition and whole farm health: Catch up on this webinar which took a deep dive into keeping livestock healthy through diverse pasture management, herbal leys, forage and more. With Lahra Harcourt-Brown from Ruminant Revival, and Lynnie Hutchison from Whole Health Ag on keeping livestock and your farm system healthy (from SA Scotland).
