Growing Well, Kendal

This is an award winning social enterprise based at Low Sizergh farm. Growing Well operates an organic growing business on 6 acres and in addition to the Cropshare Scheme, they provide work for people recovering from mental health issues, horticultural training as well as educational visits.  They currently have 40 cropshare members and are looking to expand in 2010. Members collect their weekly produce from the farm and can get involed in monthly work days and receive regular updates.

VistaVeg, Eden Valley

VistaVeg is a small grower's co-operative based in the village of Crosby Ravensworth near Shap. The co-op grows and supplies high quality, responsibly grown vegetables year round for the local community via a CSA style box scheme. There are currently 92 box scheme members with a plan to extend this to 150 by the end of 2012. The co-op also supplies wholesale to selected local businesses that are committed to promoting and retailing local food.
