Horticultural jobs at Whitethorn Farm in Herefordshire

Whitethorn Farm, an organic holding near Hereford is looking for two horticultural workers.

Horticultural worker, from now until end November and maybe longer
The work includes plant husbandry, harvest and packhouse work. Minimum 5 days a week to include weekends. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience in a productive commercial environment. Accommodation provided in a mobile home. Driving licence essential. There is potential for this to become a Soil Association Organic Apprentice position next season.

Packhouse person, permanent or from now until end December considered
An organised and efficient person to join our team to manage crop from harvest to sale: grading and packing, maintain quality standards, packing of wholesale customer orders, preparing veg boxes, stocking small farm shop, assisting with cider and juice production.  Some supervision of seasonal workers will be required and some horticultural and harvest work may be included.  Minimum 5 days a week to include weekends.  Accommodation possible.  Driving licence essential.

Whitethorn Farm is a 77 acre organic holding near Hereford, with a variety of enterprises including top fruit, soft fruit, field scale vegetables, market garden, protected cropping. It has its own farm shop, stalls at local markets, and also supplying wholesale, local and national box schemes.  We also make apple juice and cider.
