Joel Brook the farm owner has 10 years plus experience of working in the Organic farming sector prior to launching Calabaza.

What we grow
We grow a range of vegetables on 3.5 Acres comprising of field and glasshouses. We also have a packing shed and caravan on site.We focus on growing high value intensive vegetables from mixed salads to specialized Squash and Pumpkin varieties.

• We sell all of our produce within London
• We Sell to 2 Box Schemes
• We sell to 4 food retailers

Volunteering opportunity
We are looking for up to 4 individuals who can each spare
1 day per week 10.30 am – 5.30 pm for a minimum of 6 months.

When we require volunteer support
We ask that volunteers commit to working with us on either a Tuesday or a Wednesday on a regular weekly basis for a minimum of 6 months.

What we offer in return for your work and commitment
Experience of working on a City based commercial farming business.

Farm Learning
We will do our best to answer all your farming and farm business based questions, whilst working with us, if we can’t answer them we will signpost you to resources, farms and farm networks that we have found useful. And we aim to support your particular learning expectations and needs during your six-month farm volunteering process.

Anna Louise Batchelor: What a glorious weekend the first May bank holiday was. After the long, drawn out winter, a weekend of sunshine and warmth was really welcome. I took the opportunity to visit my local organic farm Waltham Place or their annual spring walk and was treated to the sight of beautiful bluebells due to the late spring.
