Farm Background: 8ha of horticulture. Stockfree organic,Soil Association symbol holder since 1976. Pioneer use of green manures in vegetable rotations with many innovative techniques utilised on the holding.Integrated approach with bio-diversity and soil- biota at the heart of the system. Many features of bio-diversity exist within the cropping systems. There are 7ha of field crops, 1ha Walled garden cropping with 1500m of tunnels and a dedicated plant propagation unit. The farm is able to demonstrate an exceptionally high level of self-sufficiency in fertility and support systems and is able to operate on a very low carbon footprint. Records for soil climate and cropping have been collected for 25 years and show a unique picture of food production. All sales are to local outlets.
