Farm walk: Whitethorn Farm, Herefordshire

Farm Background: Medium size horticultural unit with vegetables, soft fruit and top fruit. Mostly hand harvest including; beetroot with tops, spinach/chard, celery, lettuce, green top onions, sweetcorn, french beans, squash.  Some protected cropping under plastic and glass. The walk will focus on the vegetable enterprise which are mostly produced using using starch film on raised beds with machine planted modules and drip irrigated. If delegates also wish to incorporate a tour of the top fruit and soft fruit enterprises, please confirm when you book your place(see below).

Attendance is free but advanced booking is absolutely essential. We will send out directions prior to the walk.
