Farm walk at Northdown Orchard

16 October 2013 15:00 - 16 October 2013 18:00

Northdown Orchard, South Litchfield, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG25 3BP

At this time, we will be in process of clearing tunnels and replanting with winter salads, it will be good to discuss varieties and productivity over the duration of the winter and opportunities for new plantings in January. We also expect to be trialling white polythene with pre-punched planting holes for the tunnel plantings.

We will be getting ready to plant garlic that we grow on contract to Riverford. We will be splitting bulbs ready for planting and we can look at polythene laying and also my farm constructed hole punching roller. If the weather is right we will lay some polythene.
We market through our own boxes, an organic shop and to Riverford. There will also be the normal range of autumn veg box crops and winter crops coming on as well as some trial plantings of medicinal herbs.
To keep up to date see www.facebook.com/northdownorchard. We look forward to seeing you on the 16th of October.
