Mother Earth Volume 6

Mother Earth 6 coverThe Spring 2012 issue of Mother Earth begins with a piece called ‘Feeding the Future’, which shows we need to look closely at what we’re producing, what we’re eating, and who is producing it. 'Sir Albert Howard on artificial manures' examines Howard's 1940 An agricultural testament and its impact on focusing a lens on the importance of soil biology, while 'The future is biology' brings that work up-to-date, looking at how organic farmers can alter their practice to better encourage soil life and fertility. ‘Limits to Girth’ explores just why we allow ourselves to be caught up in the ideology of continuous growth, and its impact upon our health and wellbeing, while 'The path not taken' is an exploration of the free school at the Pioneer Health Centre, that ran from 1947-1950.
