Please read the press release below:

If you have been dazzled by dahlias, bowled over by brassicas or amazed by apples this year, then now is your chance to nominate a grower for an award.

For the very first time nominations for the Grower of the Year Awards are being thrown open to the industry.

NFU chief horticulture adviser Hayley Campbell-Gibbons said: “We really hope that people will take this opportunity to celebrate the best of British horticulture and help make the Grower of the Year Awards 2012 the best one yet.

“Nominations are being invited in nearly all categories including young grower of the year and the lifetime achievement award. This means that retailers, processors, growers, packers and others can now suggest a British producer or company who they think should be singled out for their hard work, innovation and vision.”

Individual growers as well as businesses of all sizes are also encouraged to enter the awards, which are run by Horticulture Week. All nominations must be received by October 13.

Winners will be announced on February 23 2012 at a glittering awards event, in front of their peers from production horticulture. To make a nomination email or call 0208 2678188.
