Nominate your green business hero in the People and Environment Achievement Business Awards 2012

03 November 2011

The Soil Association is supporting the inaugural People and Environment Achievement Business Awards 2012.

The awards seek to champion individuals within corporations who demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision in implementing Britain’s ‘greenest’ business initiatives.

Deborah Meaden, entrepreneur and star of BBC2’s Dragons’ Den, joins the impressive judging panel for the 2012 Awards. The panel will be chaired by Leo Johnson (Head of Sustainability at PricewaterhouseCoopers) and also includes Jo Wood (TV personality and organic entrepreneur), Josephine Fairley (co-founder of Green & Black’s), Alex Lambie (founder of Green Helpline) and Tony Juniper (environmental campaigner, author and editor-in-chief of Green magazine).

“As an active and passionate supporter of environmental initiatives I’m delighted to be a judge of the inaugural People and Environmental Achievement Business Awards. We are looking for the role models of the future, those who will show the direction of travel for creating sustainable businesses,” said Deborah Meaden.

Nominations will be reviewed and shortlisted in early January 2012. Finalists will be invited to attend a prize ceremony hosted by Liz Bonnin, presenter of the BBC’s Bang Goes the Theory, at The Orangery, Kensington Palace, on 25 January 2012.

HOW TO ENTER

The award categories have been divided into industry sectors to allow industry-specific standards and current practices to be taken into account during judging, ensuring that endeavours on every scale are recognised.

The core part of the submission is the entry form where nominees are invited to present their case for winning the award in no more than 500 words. The awards are free to enter and nominations can be made for multiple categories, but each entry must be submitted on a separate nomination form online at www.peabusinessawards.com

Entries should contain specific commercial data, screen grabs/URLs and passwords where applicable and should be endorsed by the company’s chief executive. Each submission should contain a high-resolution, print-quality (300dpi jpeg) head and shoulders photograph of the nominee(s).

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 3 January 2012.
