Weed Workshops - N.E + S.W Completed

07 November 2011

Following listening to producers needs and identifying weed control in grassland systems is near the top of the list we hosted two Weed Workshops this October.  One in the South West at Rob Halliday’s farm in Cornwall the other at Richard Ward’s farm in Country Durham – thank you to these producer members for hosting us.

We invited two ‘weed wise’ speakers – Phil Sumption from Garden Organic and www.organicweeds.org.uk and licensee and Producer Member Philip Trevelyan who invented the weed removal tool the Lazy Dog tool to come along and give us tips and ideas on best practice on the farm walks.

We where also very pleased to be joined by Nafferton Ecological Farming Group's Gillan Butler and Kate Gascoyne for the North East walk, and thank them for their contribution to the day along with getting such a good turn out for Richard's walk.

Please review the photos of the days below:

The Lazy Dog tool will shortly be avaliable to buy online at the Soil Association shop - please look for it here - www.soilassociation.org/Shop.aspx
