Two new grants to support research and innovation
23 March 2012
Defra and the government’s Technology Strategy Board have announced two new funds to support research and innovation by farming and food businesses.
The first provides 100% grants of up to £25,000 to small businesses. You apply with a 2-minute video and a written proposal. Applications accepted from 16th April, with a deadline of 16th May.
The second provides larger grants, up to £2.5 million, but is narrower in scope and only funds up to 50% of your costs. It focuses on increasing efficiency and reducing waste in processing and supply chains, opening on 11th June.
We’re teaming up with the Organic Research Centre and the Organic Trade Board to encourage the businesses and social enterprises we work with to apply for these grants, which provide a rare chance to get research support, and a great opportunity to show off innovation in organic food and farming.
