An Introduction to Social Media - Using social media to market your business to consumers

We are holding 3 hour social media training sessions for Soil Association licensees, with a particluar focus on different ways in which SMEs can use social media effectively to promote their business. Within the three hours we will look at the main free social media tools (concentrating on Facebook and Twitter tips and tricks, but also discussing Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube and Flickr). We will also look at other ways of promoting your business online such as Google Adwords, Facebook adverts, online forums, blogs/guest blogging and the value of search engine optimising your website.

The training will take place on the following dates:

  •    Thursday 17 May - this session is now full

  •    Thursday 19 July - this session is now full

At the end of the training you will leave with a good understanding of how to use social media successfully to market your business and brand, and know whether you should be incorporating it into your marketing strategy.

Please note that all 3 training sessions are the same so you only need to book one date which is convenient for you

The 3 hour training session will run from 2-5pm will be held at Soil Association HQ in Bristol. Our offices are located here.

To help us cover the some of costs of running this training, there will be a charge of £10 per place. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.

How to decide what social media you should use and how you should use it?

Jane Adams will provide the training. Jane has been working as a marketing professional since 1995. Since 2002 she has worked as a self employed consultant for businesses and charities in the south of England, helping them to develop their online marketing strategies. She has specialised in social media, search engine optimisation and Google Adwords consultancy and training since 2008. Her clients include The Wildlife Trusts (and four county Wildlife Trusts), East Dorset District Council, The Soil Association and environmental, industrial and horticultural businesses.
