SOIL ASSOCIATION ORGANIC FORTNIGHT

6 - 21 SEPTEMBER 2008

Soil Association Organic Fortnight is a nationwide campaign to promote the benefits of organic production and organic food, textiles and beauty products to the public.

As organic businesses, members and supporters, you are the lifeblood of the campaign. We'll provide you with a strapline, design work, key messages and a marketing toolkit. Using these, you can tailor your events and communications in order that the public will hear a consistent and constantly reinforced message over the fortnight.

Keep an eye on this page for further details coming soon. The campaign will be unveiled at the Natural and Organic Products Exhibition at Olympia on 13-14 April. Come and see us at the Soil Association Organic Business Seminars.

Sponsorship opportunities

Being a sponsor of Soil Association Organic Fortnight allows you to reach an audience of hundreds of thousands, and be recognised as supporters of not only the Soil Association and its work, but also the biggest campaign in the organic calendar.

There is no limit, however, to inventiveness, so fire away with your ideas on getting the message out there.

Celebrity Organomum’, Donna Air, delivers a wake up letter calling on the PM to back organic

Marking the end of Soil Association Organic Fortnight, celebrity actress, presenter and ‘Organomum’, Donna Air, delivered a letter to No.10 calling on the Government to wake up and listen to the growing number of mums who back organic and asking him to publicly support planet-friendly organic food as a means of tackling climate change.

Donna Air delivers an organic wake up call to Gordon Brown UK mums are leading the organic revolution. A poll commissioned by the Soil Association via parenting website www.mumsnet.com, showed that 84% of mums believe organic food is better for their family and 90% believe organic food is better for the planet. This support is matched by a growth in organic baby foods, in particular, where sales have risen to approximately £78 million in the last year, compared to a decline of non-organic baby food sales. Industry experts have named the phenomena: ‘the rise of the Organomum.’

Typically, organic farming uses 30% less energy, so organic food is 'planet-friendly' food.

TV celebrity mum Kaye Adams is supporting the Soil Association's Organic Fortnight.
Kaye Adams“I didn't think much about organic food before I was a mum, but when you have children you want to give them the best start to life. By feeding my children organic I can be confident that they are receiving maximum nutrients and minimal nasties. Not only that, but because organic farming uses almost a third less energy than traditional farming, I feel happy knowing that by eating organic my family is doing something that benefits the planet.
