"This Organic September will be about 'the easiest way to go organic', swapping your shower gel and body moisturiser for organic alternatives as your body absorbs up to 70% of what you apply to it."

Company profile
My story began 25 years ago - as a Saturday girl in my local pharmacy I chose to become a pharmacist specialising in herbal medicine, nutrition and well being. Several years later I discovered homeopathy and embarked on a journey that has ultimately led to the creation of The Organic Pharmacy.
My principles remain very simple - the best organic ingredients for honest, effective organic health and beauty with the expertise of a pharmacist and homeopath behind it, and fantastic customer service to bring you the best products, advice and treatments free from all the toxic ingredients commonly found in mainstream cosmetics and health products.
The Organic Pharmacy is the first pharmacy dedicated to all things organic, certified with the Soil Association, using pharmaceutical and medicinal quality herbs and cutting edge research for exceptional performance, synergy of ingredients and modern textures. All their products are free from artificial colourants, fragrances, petrochemicals and preservatives, with no testing on animals and respect for the environment and fairtrade.
The Organic Pharmacy proves you don't need to compromise on results when going organic.
Tell us about your plans for Organic September...
Every year, we are very proud to partner with the Soil Association to promote all things organic and the easy reasons to choose organic every day - organic is great for your well-being and the environment, is kind to animals and wildlife and allows us to make a big difference - simply through the way we shop.
So this Organic September at The Organic Pharmacy will be about 'the easiest way to go organic', swapping your shower gel and body moisturiser for organic alternatives as your body absorbs up to 70% of what you apply to it.
The skin is the body's largest organ and with scientific proof that some of the ingredients in cosmetics are absorbed through the skin and enter the blood stream it is important to be aware of what is applied to it. Ingredients that show an oestrogenic action can interfere with our hormonal system and affect our health and well being.
Choosing organic skin care and make up is just as important as organic food. As a Soil Association registered manufacturer we are proud to abide by its high standards and the quality of the products we produce.
Tell us why you think Organic September is important and why you are involved...
My own journey in organic began over 15 years ago when I first came across the term organic when studying homeopathy. I thought I had a healthy diet but when I realised that a simple apple was sprayed up to 16 times with poisonous pesticides, fungicides and herbicides I was shocked. I changed my diet immediately and soon afterward became aware of ingredients in cosmetics that were questionable.
What was amazing to me was that as a single person I actually changed the lives of those around me (my husband, friends and family) by making them aware of the things they eat but more importantly, I and thousands of people like me changed the market by changing the way we shop.
Now organic is part of our everyday lives. Organic food should be the norm not the exception and the more of us who choose it the more accessible it will become. Over the past decade, I hope that we have shown the world it is possible to choose an organic product that is beautiful to look at, luxurious to use and more effective than its synthetic counterparts without compromising on your health or beauty. Creating an awareness of the benefits of an organic lifestyle is crucial for us.
Being organic is our passion, our belief and most importantly our philosophy.
