Visit an organic farm

Highfield Farm, Devon

Tucked away on the edge of Topsham, Highfield Farm produces fine organic food in harmony with nature and its surroundings.

The traditional farmhouse is surrounded by a market garden of leeks, beetroot, onions and carrots, all grown without artificial fertilisers or chemicals. The farm grows field vegetables and greenhouse crops in a complex rotation to maintain soil fertility. This is the place to visit to gain an insight into the art of growing soft fruit and seasonal vegetables.

The farm includes green lanes, traditional fields and a wetland nature reserve alongside the River Clyst. Herons, barn owls, kingfishers and the rare cirl bunting frequent the waters.

Walks, talks and educational visits

Guided walks and talks are available for schools and groups by arrangement with the farm shop. An education pack is available. No dogs are allowed on the trail to avoid disturbing rare wildlife and livestock.
