Rules of entry : Soil Association Organic Food Awards 2013

Rules of entry

The terms and conditions for these awards are detailed below. Please refer to the entry form for each Special Award for specific eligibility criteria for those awards.

  • The Organic Food Awards are open to any product registered as organic under EU Regulation 834/07 and certified by a recognised organic certification body within the EU. Any product entered must be included on your certificate of registration and/or your annual schedule by the closing date for entries, 03 July 2013. Please provide a copy of your certificate of registration or your annual schedule, highlighting each product entered.  Failure to provide this will render the entry invalid.
  • Products entered must be available for purchase by the general public in the UK at the time of entry.
  • Entries should be made to the sub-category code detailed above. The judges will award ‘gold’ awards in each sub-category. An overall ‘Winner’ will also be chosen in each of the 11 main categories listed; these 11 winners will benefit from the publicity and media coverage secured by the Soil Association post-event. Category winners will be selected based on additional information following the blind tasting; it is therefore essential that you complete the additional information of the entry form to be in with a chance of winning your chosen category.
  • All finalists, both gold winners and category winners, will be contacted shortly after the judging to confirm they have been shortlisted for an award.  Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in September 2013.
  • Please refer to the entry form for each Special Award for details of the rules of entry specific to those awards.
  • The Consumer Choice award is not open for entries and will be awarded through consumer nominations in September 2013. All entrants to the Organic Food Awards will be informed as and when the Consumer Choice award is open for nominations, so you can promote nominations to your customers.
  • The organisers reserve the right to place entries in whichever category or sub-category they feel appropriate.
  • The organisers reserve the right to withhold an award in any category if, in the judges’ opinion, no product reaches the necessary standard.
  • Cancellation of entries can be made until Wednesday 03 July 2013 and entry fees wil be refunded minus a 30% administration fee. No refunds can be made for entries cancelled after this date.
  • It will not be possible to consider any entry that does not meet the delivery or specification requirements. In the event of a product not meeting the delivery deadline no monies can be refunded. Detailed delivery requirements and product specification will be sent following close of entries on 03 July 2013.
  • The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • No information relating to the identity of the judges of specific categories and particular entries will be revealed at any time.
  • The organisers reserve the right to withdraw an award at any time if, in their opinion, the actions of the recipient or nature of the winning product threaten the integrity of the Soil Association Organic Food Awards.
