Funding for innovative food solutions
The Welsh Government is inviting single companies or organisations from the private, public and third sectors to apply for a share of up to £1m funding to develop innovative solutions to significantly improve the nutritional composition of food and drink available to children whilst driving down cost. The competition is part of a Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) in which challenges faced by public sector are connected with innovative ideas from industry, supporting companies to generate economic growth and enabling improvement in achieving government objectives.
Developments will be 100% funded, and suppliers for each project will be selected by an open competition process and retain the intellectual property rights generated from the project (with certain rights of use retained by the contracting authority).
Briefing events for organisations interested in finding out more about the competition will be held at the Welsh Government Llandudno Junction office on Monday 5th June 2017 and the Welsh Government Treforest office on Tuesday 6th June 2017.
To reserve a place at either of the events, please send your request, along with the names and contact details of the attendees clearly marked as BRIEFING EVENT to FoodBIS@wales.gsi.gov.uk. If you have any queries, please contact Elaine Luke: Elaine.Luke@wales.gsi.gov.uk.
