Covid 19, Update for Forestry Certificate Holders

Covid 19, Update for Forestry Certificate Holders

To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, Soil Association Certification has introduced additional protocols to help assess the risks associated with our business activities.

We are monitoring the situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) very closely and advice is changing daily.

Audits

In countries/regions where COVID-19 risks mean that it's no longer possible to conduct a physical site audit, a remote audit method will be used for surveillance, if the audit can be credibly conducted i.e.:

  • There are no open Major Corrective Action Requests
  • No ongoing complaints
  • Records can be provided
  • Interviews can be conducted by phone

Pre-Assessments, Main Assessments and Re-Assessments are being delayed for COVID-19 affected countries, and there are certain rules, depending on the scheme (FSC® or PEFC™).

If it's considered necessary to change the audit method, organisations will be informed at the earliest opportunity. Organisations are requested to inform their allocated auditor or contact person as soon as possible if there are any COVID-19 related developments or risks at their certified sites that may affect the scheduled audit.

Keeping you up to date

All staff, auditors and agents will follow the official advice in their country regarding hygiene measures. We all need to work together to maintain health and safety.

Communication with your Account Manager should remain the same and we'll continue to deliver a high level of service to you during this challenging time. To enable this, we have equipped all of our staff to be able to work from home.

We remain fully committed to supporting your business and ensuring the continuation of your certification throughout these challenging times.

We'll continue to update our Forestry News pages with any new information or guidance as it becomes available.
