Information for Farms
Future Growers programme can provide a structured course of learning and wider experience for your new or existing employees.
While we are no longer organising apprenticeship or traineeship placements for Future Growers, you are welcome to advertise job opportunities and placements on the Soil Association Organic Marketplace, and to encourage your applicants to join the Future Growers programme. You will also need to use other appropriate channels to advertise positions.
Participating in the Future Growers programme will enable your employees to relate what they are doing day to day to what they see and learn on the field trips. Our experience is that Future Growers often return to their farms with new energy and ideas. They also benefit from being part of a wider learning community. The Future Growers programme provides guidance on how to run mentoring to help your new employees learn while they are on the job.
Some farms may choose to insist that applicants join the Future Growers programme. They may also choose to pay some or all of the Future Growers fees.
Future Growers will be required to attend all six weekend field trips from Friday evening to the end of Sunday, approximately between May to October.
