What’s the difference between Organic Exchange and GOTS certification?

These are two entirely separate certification schemes. Organic exchange certification represents the tracking and documenting of the purchase, handling and use of organic cotton fibres only. GOTS is a much more comprehensive textile processing standard applicable to all natural fibres, and covers the basics of the organic exchange standards, plus requirements for fibres, accessories, chemical inputs allowed, minimum social criteria, environmental policies, and basic quality requirements. Note: organic exchange certification is not accepted in GOTS supply chains.
