Going organic: an opportunity? Conversion & funding info

Going organic: Conversion & funding info

Farmers and growers in Scotland have the opportunity to apply for organic conversion and organic maintenance payments, until the deadline of 20 April 2016.

This provides a great opportunity for support, and any land in Scotland that is eligible for the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) is eligible for this organic funding. Organically managed land is exempt from the greening requirements.

Organic Farming Conversion and Organic Farming Maintenance options, as well as funding for capital items such as fencing, are available as part of the Agri-Environment Climate Scheme (AECS). Both options are available throughout the whole of Scotland, and are classed as AECS National Priorities.

The most up to date information and guidance can be found on the Scottish Government's Rural Payments website.
