Kurt and Lucy Jewson - Frugi
Born from a desire to find clothing to fit over their son’s enormous cloth nappy laden bum, Kurt and Lucy Jewson’s dream was to create gorgeous children’s clothing that kids would love to wear, but more importantly to do it as ethically as possible...
Since the beginning we have believed passionately about caring for people and the environment, we want to be completely ethical, honest and transparent in everything we do and we firmly believe that producing gorgeous, great quality organic clothing shouldn’t mean compromising our planet.
We design clothes that children love; it seems obvious, but we make children’s clothes especially for children, not mini adults!Lucy Jewson
Why was being organic important to you?
Our aim is for kids to choose Frugi clothes when they get dressed in the morning because they love the way they look and more importantly they feel comfy wearing them. Whatever we do we want to do the very best we can...that’s why our clothes had to be organic; because it’s better for everyone- from the farmers who grow our cotton to the children who wear our clothes.
Plans for the future
Since Frugi started in 2004 we have always believed passionately about caring for people and the planet. Ensuring our suppliers are operating at a high ethical standard and creating the right environment for the people who work for Frugi is very important to us. We’re constantly looking for innovative new product ideas and have recently added a fab range of outerwear made from recycled plastic bottles.
