Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday has been celebrated in the UK for centuries. Traditionally, pancakes were eaten on this day to use up rich, indulgent foods like eggs and milk before the 40-day fasting season of Lent began. You don’t have to be taking part in Lent to enjoy a pancake or two on the 28th but you can make a difference when it comes to the ingredients you use.
