- Abigail Cat
Abi loves the outdoors and her background is farming, food and conservation. She worked for Waitrose before developing an interest in small-scale local food production, principally through experience of livestock farming in the Lake District. She gained a Geography degree from Exeter University in 2012, writing her dissertation on the ‘local’ aspects of a fell farm’s meat production and supply chain. Since then she has given practical support to enterprising farmers and mushroom growers in Uganda, and to a Forest School connecting children with nature and food origins in Devon.
She joined Soil Association Certification as a producer Certification Officer in 2015, having previously been a volunteer with the National Trust in South Lakes, as part of the Ranger team carrying out extensive practical countryside management. Abigail is based in our Edinburgh office.
