Nicola Cannon
Farmer and Grower Board Vice Chair
Nicola is Principal Lecturer in Agronomy at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester with research interests in organic and low-input crop production systems. Recent and current research study areas include quantifying the role of red clover for fertility building; intercropping cereal legume systems; the impact of different crop establishment systems on grain yield and weed competition.
Nicola served on the Advisory Committee on Organic Standards (ACOS) Certification Committee for Defra from 2004-2008 and then went on to act as a technical expert in organic standards for the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
Nicola has also previously organised the Prince of Wales Food and Farming Summer School and run the potato patch and wheat patch at Alex James and Jamie Oliver’s Festival.
