What we do and why it matters
As a charity we are dedicated to working across the whole spectrum of food issues. We focus on transforming how food is grown and produced, and making sure everyone has healthy, sustainable food to eat.
We champion a world where people, farm animals and nature can thrive. And we work with farmers, growers and researchers to find pioneering and practical solutions to today’s farming challenges. We also make good food the easy choice for everyone, from children in schools, to older people in care homes. And we inspire millions of people to take their own steps towards a healthier, happier future.
We campaign for change
On key issues such as climate change, soil health, pesticides, and use of antibiotics in farming and children’s food, we campaign to influence change in the world. Read more on our campaign work.
We influence Government
Using real evidence, we influence Ministers and policy-setters, forcing them to listen and effecting change. Read more on how we’re shaping the future of food and farming policy.
We develop and trial solutions
Working with farmers and growers, we research and tackle the most serious food and farming challenges. We show there is another way, and work with those who know best – the farmers themselves – to do this. Read more on our trials and solutions.
We also work with schools, hospitals, care homes, visitor attractions, restaurants, caterers, teachers and parents to develop and roll out solutions which make healthy and sustainable food easily available. Read more on our Food For Life programme.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
We urgently need funds to support our work. Thanks to our members we have made huge steps forward in many areas, but we need more support. A regular monthly gift in the form of membership enables us to carry out the ground-breaking work and crucial campaigning we do to highlight the connection between how our food is produced, and the health of our planet and ourselves. As the UK prepares to leave the EU, there is a real opportunity to get farming policy on track for the future. With your support we can do this!JOIN TODAY
