LEGUMINOSE

The way to a green transition

Intercropping, also known as plant team/mixture, is increasingly recognized as a potentially sustainable management system, offering ecological mechanisms as agronomic tools.

LEGUMINOSE will study through on-farm living lab approach across Europe and two-way communication channels and knowledge exchange activities by building international collaboration with countries from South Asia and North Africa with the aim to identify the additional benefits of legume-based intercropping beyond yields and nitrogen (N) dynamics to increase further implementation and adoption of intercropping as an agronomic management tool.

Working in partnership with University of Reading, we’re looking for farmers interested in finding out more about intercropping or being part of on-farm trials, to explore this practice in more detail.
