Dentons UK and Middle East LLP
How Dentons UK and Middle East LLP works with Soil Association through the My Food Community programme.
Soil Association is delighted to partner with one of the leading global law firms, Dentons, to bolster funding for one of our cornerstone programmes: My Food Community. This accelerated leadership programme for community food organisers focuses on championing good food that’s good for climate, nature and health.
The 3 year partnership will provide successful applicants with impact grants, enabling direct and transformational change in communities. This is part of the firm acting on its commitment to be a more responsible business and coinciding with the launch of 3 new environmental charity partnerships within the United Kingdom, Middle East and Ireland region.
The programme has provided over £50,000 worth of grants to projects to improve relationships and access to good food in the community. Grants have previously been spent by community organisers on upskilling volunteer groups, making critical improvements to existing community services, establishing community fridge projects and opening community gardens.
With Dentons support, we can provide many more grants to those doing amazing things in their community.
A previous fund participant said: "This action project undoubtedly helped kick start our food partnership to focus, understand, and share the benefits of the pantry model with our community groups in Bury. Promoting this model has now been built into both our food strategy, but also recently, in our anti poverty strategy. At the start of this year, there were only a couple of pantries, now there are 7."
Clare England, Head of Responsible Business, said: "While Dentons UK and Middle East LLP is committed to legal excellence, we also recognise the importance of supporting initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental stewardship. Our Charity partnership with the Soil Association reflects our belief in the vital role of organisations dedicated to promoting organic farming, healthy ecosystems, and sustainable food systems for the wellbeing of present and future generations."
Going into our first year of partnership, it’s a hugely exciting time for the programme. You can find out more and keep an eye out for application dates at My Food Community.
