Food For Life Served Here
We work in partnership with catering organisations across the UK, helping food service providers to deliver more sustainable catering made from fresh, local, honest ingredients. We work in different sectors including visitor attractions, workplaces, events spaces, nurseries, schools, hospitals, care homes and further and higher education sites.
Food for Life Served Here
Food for Life Served Here is an independent award scheme that means caterers can guarantee that menus meet certain standards. Menus include meals cooked from scratch, using sustainable fish, free range eggs and ingredients that can be traced back to the farm. To achieve at a higher award level, caterers must also be taking steps to make healthy eating easier for customers. We encourage the use of locally sourced and ethical ingredients, to support the local economy and protect the environment for the future. The standards we ask our caterers to meet are created with public health and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in mind.
Green Kitchen Standard
Going one step further, we are collaborating with the Carbon Trust to recognise those that are committed to wider change, not just from the food they serve, but from the way it is produced. The Green Kitchen Standard is awarded to caterers who are making changes to sustainably manage energy, water and waste in their kitchens. The standard has been created with DEFRA’s Balanced Scorecard in mind.
