The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a complex and evolving piece of legislation that will require companies to demonstrate that their products are free from deforestation. This self-paced online course covers all EUDR commodities, and is suitable for individuals at all knowledge levels, from beginner to expert. It is for:

The EUDR covers seven key commodities: coffee, cocoa, natural rubber, palm oil, soya, cattle and beef, and timber.
Course overview
module 1: briefly introduces the work of Soil Association
module 2: contextualises EUDR in relation to the importance of forests and the human activities causing forest loss
module 3: learn the overarching aims and scope of the regulation
module 4: learn how EUDR evolved from timber regulations, and their similarities and differences
module 5: explore the applicability of EUDR requirements according to various factors, such as your company size, activity, and your place in the supply chain
module 6: explore the Articles of the EUDR to learn what is required for compliance
module 7: understand the process of submitting Due Diligence Statements though the online platform TRACES NT
All courses focus on legal requirements only, and do not cover certification requirements, such as Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) or PEFC certification.
Time to complete the course
The course will take approximately 3-5 hours to complete. This may vary according to how familiar you are with EUDR subject matter.
