ISO 19011 course

This blended training course comprises 4-8 hours of online e-learning content and 1.5 days of in-person training, delivered online. The in-person training covers:

managing an audit programme

Forest management course
21-25 September 2026, in-person in Edinburgh, UK
This blended training course comprises 18-24 hours online e-learning and 5 days in-person training, delivered in Edinburgh, UK.
The in-person training includes an overview of the history and objectives of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), as well as:
overview of general requirements for forest management (FM) application
national and interim national standards and the role of the international generic indicators (IGIs)
FSC’s stakeholder consultation process and its application
the FM certification process and certification decision making
group certification of FM
certification of small and low-intensity managed forest
social requirements within certification
legal and customary rights of indigenous peoples, as addressed in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, national laws and indigenous laws
evaluation of high conservation values
FSC’s pesticides policy and its implementation
forest certification for ecosystem services (ForCes)
FM certification report writing
Who the course is for
Those who select and successfully complete the full FSC Auditing to ISO 19011, forest management or chain of custody courses will receive a valid training certificate as a crucial step towards becoming a qualified FSC auditor.
This course may also be of interest to:
certificate holders looking for insight into what happens during an audit
international NGOs (non-governmental organisations) involved in forest certification
providers of certification services
If you don't intend to become a qualified auditor, you can still attend. You may find it helpful to improve your understanding of the FSC process, or to improve procedures (for existing certificate holders or companies planning to become certified).
Course details
Course length and location
Part one of the course comprises 4-8 hours of online learning content and 1.5 days of in-person training, delivered online.
Part two comprises 18-24 hours of online learning and 5 days in-person training in Edinburgh, UK.
Entry requirements
Our courses are held in English unless otherwise stated, therefore proficiency in English is essential.

Course fees
The ISO 19011 remote course costs £350 (excluding VAT) per trainee. The remote course must be attended in conjunction with the FSC Chain of Custody and/or the FSC Forest Management course.
The total for both the ISO and Forest Management course is £1,350 (excluding VAT), which includes a 10% multicourse booking discount.
Global North and Global South fee adjustment
The courses we hold in the Global North cost £1,150 plus VAT and in the Global South the cost is £1,050 plus VAT.
Course outcome
On successful completion of the course a valid certificate as specified in FSC-PRO-20-004 will be issued.
