Josiah Judson
Josiah Judson, Senior Farming Advisor
Josiah joined the Farming and Land Use Team in June 2025. He is leading on two EU Soil Health Mission programmes – NBSoil and AI4SoilHealth. He is also contributing to programmes focussed on agroecology across the UK and Europe. He trained as a soil scientist at Leeds University and is finishing a PhD on agroforestry and soil health. When it comes to agroecology and landscapes he is particularly interested in systems thinking. This involves understanding and mapping the many interconnected benefits healthy soil can offer for farms and communities.
Before joining the Soil Association, Josiah worked for a think tank and a microfinancing charity. He has experience in general sustainability, nature-based solutions, flood modelling, soil analysis, policy and international development.
