Approved inputs for organic farming

These standards set out which inputs can be used in organic farming and how they are assessed and approved, helping farmers and suppliers protect organic integrity, soils and the environment.

Approved inputs are products that farmers and growers are allowed to use in organic farming. The approved inputs standards assure that an input, such as fertiliser or compost, meets the Soil Association standards and organic regulations.

The scheme means that farmers and growers can confidently choose the right inputs.

It aims to ensure transparency by setting out a clear set of requirements for inputs and making them accessible to consumers, farmers and growers.
