Aquaculture Products from Norway - Update

Aquaculture Products Update

Due to a delay in implementing & agreeing upon the current EU organic Regulations (EC) 834/2007 and 889/2008 across the EEA countries, last summer the European Commission withdrew its' approval for organic aquaculture products produced in Norway.

We are pleased to confirm that the EEA countries have now fully incorporated Regulations (EC) 834/2007 and 889/2008 into their national legislations, and this has been approved by the EEA committee. This means that from 18th March 2017, operators will be able to import aquaculture products into the EU from Norway and the other EEA countries, as equivalent to the organic Regulations (EC) 834/2007 and 889/2008.

Please remember that all suppliers must be listed on your organic licence before you import from them, so please check your information schedule before placing any orders. If you need a new supplier listed, then please contact your certification officer.
