EC Ruling on Use of Non-Organic Pullets
The European Commission have now confirmed that the use of non-organic pullets and 5% non-organic protein feed in pig and poultry diets has been extended until the 31st December 2018.
Non-organic pullets for egg production (using pullets up to 18 weeks old, fed with organic feed and meeting organic veterinary requirements) can continue to be used, with prior permission, when organic reared pullets are not available.
Up to 5% of pig and poultry annual diets for 2018 can be from non-organic protein feed ingredients when organic alternatives are not available. The extension to these permissions will come into force on the 1st January 2018.
