ECOA has been suspended

We have received notification that the Egyptian certifier, Egyptian Center of Organic Agriculture (ECOA), have had their accreditation suspended. This means their certification is not currently considered equivalent to the EU Organic regulation and they will not be able to issue certificates of inspection for imports to the EU. 

We do not have any further details of the reasons or likely length of the suspension, but will keep our licensees informed as and when we receive further information.

If you have suppliers in Egypt certified by ECOA, you will not be able to import from them whilst the suspension is in place.
