COSMOS Standard Version 3 Now Available
We are pleased to announce that the COSMOS Standard has now been updated to version 3 (V3). Please familiarise yourself with this new standard as we will be certifying to it from 1st January 2019. We will continue to inspect and certify products to COSMOS version 2 (V2) up until 1st January 2019. Changes have also been made to the documents that go with the Standard, for example the Labelling guide and Control Manual.
The changes made within the new Standard aim to improve and strengthen COSMOS procedures. Some of these changes include the prohibition of animal testing, requirements for certified sustainable palm oil and new organic calculation rules for soaps. Licensees who are directly affected by the changes to soap calculations will be contacted by their certification officer.
Please note, There is a 1 year change over period for any products which have been certified before 1st January 2019. Affected products will be required to meet COSMOS V3 by 1st January 2020.
