FSC Ecosystem Services Procedures

FSC Ecosystem Services Procedures

FSC have a new Ecosystem Services Procedure, providing forest managers, communities and smallholders with the necessary tools to verify their impacts on carbon sequestration and storage, conservation of biodiversity, watershed services, soil conservation and recreational services. Additionally, businesses and governments will be equipped to demonstrate and communicate the impact their purchases, investments and financial support are having on the conservation and restoration of forest ecosystem services.

The procedure will be ready to use from Tuesday 21st August 2018. In the interim, FSC will provide training for forest managers who want to use the procedure and for certification bodies who will evaluate compliance with it. FSC are working with partners to confirm the most promising business models. You can find out more here - please get in touch if you're interested in learning about this opportunity.
