FSC Pesticides Policy Update
The second draft of the FSC Pesticides Policy, with supporting documentation, is open for public consultation until Sunday 15th July 2018. The policy provides FSC’s position for managing the use of chemical pesticides in FSC-certified management units, and includes requirements for their use in nurseries and workers’ accommodation. There are significant changes proposed, including an end to the current derogation process and the introduction of Environmental and Social Risk Assessments (ESRAs), both within international and national FSC standards, and at certificate holder level.
