Future Growers
The Soil Association’s Future Growers programme ran from 2007 to 2018 training the next generation of organic growers. The scheme trained over 120 organic entrepreneurs and brought new energy into the field of sustainable fruit and vegetable production. Over 80% of our Future Growers continued to develop their career in horticulture after completing the scheme.
Even though we are no longer running the Future Growers Scheme, the Soil Association is still running events and training days and can offer bespoke workshops and masterclasses.
We believe there is still an urgent need for training the next generation of growers to help feed our country and would welcome the opportunity to partner with like minded organisations.
We would like to thank particularly Hilary Chester-Master, Nathan Richards, Pete Richardson, Martin Soble, and Roger Hitchings for their support of the programme as well as many others who contributed to its success.
To see a summary of the scheme and how it is has helped please view our report from a survey of participants.
If you have questions regarding the Future Growers scheme, please email producer.support@soilassociation.org.
The following organisations and businesses are still active in providing Commercial Organic Vegetable training
