Certification update

Opening hours for Certificates of Inspection and NOPs over Christmas and New Year 2024

The Import and Export team will be available between between Christmas and New Year, operating a reduced service to process pre-arranged COIs and NOPs only.

  • Exporting and importing

The Certificates of Inspection service will operate as follows:

  • Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 December – extended service from 8:30am-6pm

  • Wednesday 25 December – CLOSED

  • Thursday 26 December – Wednesday 1 January: our working hours will be 12pm-4.30pm to process COIs and NOPs submitted by pre-arrangement only, with the exception of Sunday 29 December, when we will be closed.

  • Thursday 2 January 2025 – from 2 January onwards our phone lines will be open 9-5pm; please bear with us as we are expecting a higher number of COIS to be submitted on this day

Non-EU exporting certificates

Due to the new NOP requirements, we will continue to endorse these by pre-arrangement but we will not be endorsing other non-EU paperwork submitted between Friday 20 December 2024 to 1 January 2025. Normal service will resume on Thursday 2 January 2025.

Certification queries

All general certification queries will be responded to from 2 January. If you have an urgent query before this date, please call 0117 987 4564 and leave a message. Messages will be checked and any queries which are deemed to be an emergency we will respond to as soon as possible.

Please note emails into the cert@soilassociation.org or to the certification team will not be responded to during this time. Thank you for your ongoing support throughout 2024.

The GB (retained) and EU organic regulation requires that the first consignee carries out some specific checks when they receive imported organic goods from outside of the EU, EEA, NI and CH.
