Use of EU organic logo on product produced in GB optional

We understand not all GB organic businesses are aware that the EU Organic logo is not required for use on product produced in GB.

Since 2021, when the UK exited the EU, use of the EU Organic logo became optional. The GB organic regulation does not require its use. This means that if you do not wish to use the EU logo on your product produced in GB, you can remove it from your labelling.

Use of the EU organic logo in Northern Ireland continues to be compulsory on organic food prepacked in NI. Operators in NI must follow the EU organic regulation 2018/848 which requires its use on prepacked food items.
