Global Organic Textile Standard Consultation
Consultation on the revision of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
GOTS has launched a consultation on changes to the Standards and Manual of GOTS and we want to hear what licensees think of the proposed changes.
As a founder member and a GOTS certifier, the Soil Association and Soil Association Certification are stakeholders in the revision process and will be providing feedback on the proposed changes for consideration by the GOTS Standards Committee and Advisory Council (members of our Standards Team have seats on both of these committees).
We want to hear your views on GOTS’ proposals. This is also an opportunity to raise issues to do with the Standards and Implementation Manual that are not directly mentioned in the consultation.
GOTS’ aim with the consultation is to ensure that the Standards and Manual “set strict and binding requirements for ecological and social parameters while acknowledging the need for practicability in industrial production of a wide range of products”.
The consultation will be in two phases, in the second phase there will be an opportunity to review and respond to the comments of other contributors to the consultation.
Please download the documents to see the proposed changes to the Standards and Manual. Please provide feedback by completing the feedback form and mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please ensure any feedback relates to the proposed v6 documents below, and not the current GOTS v5 documents.
The closing date for feedback is Thursday 2nd May.
