Kate gained her Bsc(Hons) in Agriculture from the University of Reading, and following that worked in large scale vegetable production, and the horticultural supply industry before moving to Mid Wales. Kate farms in partnership with her husband Kevin. They have been Soil Association Licencees since 1999 on their 70 acre upland beef & sheep holding near Brecon, Powys. The farm has been in environmental schemes for 20 years.
Kate has benefited from many knowledge transfer events held in Wales. Particular interests of hers are animal health/welfare and grassland management. She hosted a liver fluke Field Lab and is currently a member of sheep focus group in Brecon.
